The Cone Health network of hospitals scored well in newly released, national rankings by U.S. News & World Report, particularly in treating ailments that adult patients face most frequently.
The hospitals, which include a total of three Cone facilities in Greensboro and Reidsville, were rated “high performing” by the national news magazine in all nine procedures and conditions that affect adults most often.
The services offered at Moses H. Cone and Wesley Long hospitals in Greensboro, and Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville also ranked as the sixth best statewide, according to the magazine that ranks hospitals nationwide each year.
Conditions for which the hospital system scored highly included abdominal aortic aneursym, aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, colon cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, hip and knee replacements, and lung cancer surgery.
Cone Health Chief Medical Officer Bruce Swords said the results emphasize that area residents can receive the highest quality of care “without leaving town.”
